As a Merchant Navy radio officer, Ian served on the Samite, Samforth and Samnesse, three of the Liberty ships given to Britain under the wartime Lend-Lease Agreement with the United States.
All Ian's audio books have been published, in greater detail, in the Nautical magazine of Glasgow, to which he regularly contributes. His memoirs are continued in Books 4, 5 and 6.
